Join the Heeler gang, Bluey, Bandit, Chili, and Bingo and play along in this cheeky drama class! Students will engage in ultimate imaginative play, just like their favorite characters from this popular TV show. Creativity will abound in this exciting new class!
Did you know that the games and techniques that abound in Bluey and shows like Bluey are basic tennants of improv and creative drama? Saying, “Yes”, playing along, committing to imagined circumstances – all of these skills are foundational theatre practices that NCT has been employing before it was cool! And by participating in exercises like the ones in Bluey, students will build empathy, teamwork, self-confidence, and have innovative brains by fostering focus and creative problem solving!
Mini camps are based on a popular theme, allowing students to enter the worlds of their pop-culture interest through creative and imaginative play, all while learning fundamental acting skills.
NCT’s focus is always the healthy development of young people. We believe that the skills that students learn while participating in the process of theatre will serve them in their everyday lives as well as provide a foundation if they choose to continue to more advanced work (which we hope they do!).
NCT offers free extended care for our families. Before Care opens at 7:30 am and After Care closes at 5:30 pm. You can add this service during registration or on a day-to-day basis during the camp week. Extended care consists of supervised unstructured free time. Students are welcome to bring a book or electronic device (that NCT is not responsible for). Additionally, NCT provides coloring sheets, board games, marble towers, etc for students who are interested. Also, during after care, we will also have a daily option of a G or PG-rated children’s movie playing as an activity choice.
*There may be two sections of this class. If participating with a friend, please indicate this in the “friend request” question during registration. If a sibling is also in the camp and you would like them in the same section OR separate sections if possible, please indicate in that field.
