For young artists ready to deepen their theatre training and put those skills into practice, NCT Drama School offers a year-round progression from studio training to fully produced performances.
Students can begin with Company, continue building their skills from season to season, and audition for Encore Company when they’re ready for an additional challenge.

FALL: COMPANY IN STUDIO

Develop the Craft

Ages 8-18 | No Audition

Company begins in the studio.

Throughout the fall, young artists train with professional Teaching Artists in acting, voice, movement, musical theatre, and more. Rather than jumping immediately into rehearsing a production, Company In Studio gives students dedicated time to explore new techniques, strengthen their skills, take creative risks, and grow as individual artists and as a company.

Students work within age-appropriate Company groups while learning from a variety of theatre professionals throughout the semester.

The fall culminates in a Winter Showcase, giving students the opportunity to apply and share the skills they have developed throughout the semester.

SPRING: COMPANY ON STAGE

Share the Stage

Ages 8-18 | No Audition

In the spring, Company takes those skills from the studio to the stage.

Company On Stage gives young artists the experience of building a fully produced play alongside professional theatre artists. Students move through the complete production process, from the first rehearsal through technical rehearsals and performances.

The focus remains on growth and training, but now students put their developing skills into practice through character work, collaboration, rehearsal discipline, storytelling, and live performance.

Kids Company, Junior Artists Company, and Emerging Artists Company productions are designed to meet students where they are developmentally while continuing to challenge them as theatre artists.

Priority registration is available for returning Company In Studio students.

ENCORE COMPANY

NCT’s Audition-Based Musical Theatre Company

Ages 10-18 | Audition Required | Full-Year Commitment

Encore Company is for experienced young performers ready to take the next step in their training.

Across two semesters, Encore artists train together in acting, singing, and dance while working toward a fully produced musical on NCT’s Mainstage.

The year is designed to push students beyond simply learning a role. Encore artists develop stronger technique, greater artistic independence, professional rehearsal habits, and the confidence to make bold creative choices.

Just as importantly, students become part of a dedicated company of young artists who train, rehearse, challenge, and support one another throughout the year.

Encore Company includes:

• Advanced musical theatre training
• Acting, vocal, and dance instruction
• A consistent company of young artists across the year
• Rehearsal and production experience
• A fully produced musical
• Performance on NCT’s Mainstage

Encore is recommended for students with previous musical theatre or performance experience who are ready for a greater level of challenge and commitment. Advanced performers from all backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

SUMMER COMPANY

Go All In.

Ages 8-18 | No Audition

Summer is where Company goes all in.

NCT’s Summer Company Musicals give young artists an immersive production experience, spending multiple weeks rehearsing, creating, and performing a fully produced musical.

Students work alongside professional directors, music directors, choreographers, Teaching Artists, and production artists as they experience the fast-paced process of bringing a musical from the rehearsal room to the stage.

Summer Company is offered at multiple age levels so students can continue growing with NCT:

Kids Company
Ages 8–11

Junior Artists Company
Ages 11–14

Emerging Artists Company
Ages 14–18

Whether a student has trained with us throughout the year or is joining NCT for the first time, Summer Company offers the chance to dive deeply into the production process, build friendships, strengthen performance skills, and experience the excitement of creating a musical together.
